This website uses no analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), no advertising networks and no tracking pixels. We do not set any cookies ourselves, which is why you won’t see a cookie banner.
When you fill in our contact form or the collaboration request form, we receive your name, email address, company name (if any) and your message by email. We only use this to answer your question and follow up on a possible collaboration. We don’t keep it longer than necessary and we don’t share it with third parties.
Legal basis: your request itself (pre-contractual steps) and our legitimate interest in answering messages.
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we receive your email address. We only use it to send you our latest stories now and then. You can unsubscribe at any time: reply to a newsletter or email us and we will delete your address.

Some articles show an Instagram post or reel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) or a YouTube video (Google Ireland Ltd.). On those pages your browser loads content directly from these services. They may receive data such as your IP address and browser information and, if you are logged in, link the visit to your account. We load YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so YouTube only sets cookies once you play the video.

We link to other websites, including partners such as Travelbase (HikeTribe, Canoe Tribe, Surf Tribe), DiscoverCars, Booking.com and Botanica Travel Design. Some of these are partner links: if you book through one, that partner may record on its own website that you came from us. Their own privacy policy applies. The same goes for links to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp: you only reach those services when you click.
Our hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, time and requested page in server logs. We only use these for the security and proper functioning of the website, and they are deleted automatically after a limited time.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data and to withdraw your consent. Just email us at the.jehouligans.travel@gmail.com. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
